Description
This pleasant coastal walk is part of the Te Araroa walkway providing access to Paekakariki township and Queen Elizabeth Park from the Pukerua Bay coastline. The track is marked at the north end of the carpark beside the Fisherman's Table restaurant. There is some traffic noise from SH1, but this is offset by coastal views. The track is well above the beach, so if it is beach access you want this is best from the carpark at Fisherman's Table. The Ames St end of the track has large grass area. For a loop walk you can return by the Railway Escarpment but take care crossing SH1.
If you are cycling the Pukerua Bay coastline you cannot do this track. Continue up SH1 and turn left into Ames St (the cycling route is signposted).

Getting there
Plenty of parking at the north end of the Fishman's Table carpark which is just off SH1 about 1 km south of the turnoff to Paekakariki. You can also park on Ames St near the northern entrance.
