From the end of Bing Lucas Drive it is a short (400 metre) walk a little way uphill to the reservoir. There is a grassy bank surrounding most of the water tower which is easily climbed and from there you get good views over Tawa, Linden, to Porirua and across to Haywards.

Park at the end of Bing Lucas Drive. The road is now sealed to the end and new houses are springing up. You cannot drive to the reservoir, there is a gate blocking the last few hundred metres.
