Description
Aotea Lagoon is a family recreation area. It is just outside Porirua on SH1 near the Royal Police College. The loop walk is about 700 metres and is suitable for all ages. There are several fitness exercises around the loop.
Getting there
The main carpark is on Papakowhai Road. Turn off SH1 at the traffic lights about 2 km north of Porirua on to Whitford Brown Avenue, and then left on to Papakowhai Road, and the carpark and entrance to the lagoon is on the left.
Other notes
Expect small kids, pushchairs, and people walking dogs.
