Description
This is only a short walk (about 250 metres) from the carpark to the falls, but is included because the waterfall isn't widely known and is really spectacular.

Getting there
There are many narrow, windy, gravel roads in the area. The best route to Waihi Falls is to head east out of Dannevirke on Miller Rd/Weber Road. The falls are about 45 km from Dannevirke. Continue down Weber Road for about 30 km and look for Oporae Road on the right past Waipatiki (the turn-off to Waihi Falls is signposted). Oporae Road is narrow and windy. Continue for about 10 km looking for Waihi Falls Road (NOT Falls Road) on the left. Follow Waihi Falls Road to the end where there is a large grassy carpark and information signs.
