This is a wide walkway through the centre of Whitby from Discovery Drive to Postgate Drive, following Spinnaker Drive for some distance. It is below the road and follows a small stream along some of its length. There are underpasses for pedestrians to go under some of the major roads. There are many entry/exit points, and there is a play area along the way. Expect to encounter dog walkers.

Beginning from the Discovery Drive entrance (there is an underpass), there is an entrance from Solander Place, further on past the play area a zig-zag track goes up the hill to The Yardarm. The next entrance is from Charthouse Lane, then Capstan Lane, continue through the underpass under Spinnaker Drive and further on there is an underpass leading to Hicks Close and The Sounding, cross over Leeward Drive down Azimuth Place and exit on to Postgate Drive. From here cross the road and go right to join up with Postgate Drive Path.

From Discovery Drive, if you walk left up the road you can join up with Village Walkway about 500 metres up the road.

The track is sealed and is wide. Tracks are generally sealed along the sidewalk from one walkway to another. Allow 15 - 20 minutes to walk the length.

There are many entrances to the Whitby Walkway. You can join the walkway on Discovery Drive, Spinnaker Drive and Postgate Drive.
