This is a pleasant and civilised easy walk behind houses beside an area of greenery in the back streets of Whitby. There are 5 entrances (Eclipse Lane, Sailmaker Close, Picketboat Lane, Musket Lane and Discovery Drive) and there is a playground (Discovery Play area) in the middle of the walk. This is a two-way sealed walkway/cycle way, and you may meet people walking dogs. Allow 10 - 15 minutes.

From the Discovery Drive exit it is a short walk to join up with the Whitby Walkway or Whitby Lakeside paths.

In common with many of the walkways in Whitby, at Discovery Drive there is an underpass so you can get to the walkway without crossing the road.

There are 5 entrances as mentioned above. You can park on the road, best places to begin are Eclipse Lane or Discovery Drive.
