This is an easy grassy track that does a loop goes round the outside of the Manawa Karioi Ecological Restoration Project (a community project with the objective of restoring native plants and animals to Island Bay's coastal hills at Tapu Te Ranga Marae).

The track can be done in either direction. Around the highest point, near the southwestern corner of the loop, there is a short link through to Frobisher and hence Tawatawa.

Take the sealed drive up from end of Danube Street to the entrance and signboard. The loop starts and ends there.

Alternatively, there is a short link to Frobisher near the southwestern corner of the loop.

Together with Tawatawa and Tawatawa East makes a good night ride starting from Island Bay shops.
