Description
Bit of a slog up the gravel logging road, but once into the bush at 600m its nice singletrack through native forest up to Fosters Clearing and Fosters Hut at 1100m.
The track then wanders about up high for a bit, before heading straight down some fun steep tracks under lush forest canopy. A bit hard to navigate, so watch out for those orange markers.
End up on Wakamarina Rd, which take you down to Canvastown, which has a pub and not a lot else. Lots of good old goldmining history and relics in the area.
From Kennett Bros book:
p220, 4 stars!!
Grade 3 or 5-, 2 or 5 hrs, 20 or 35km
Two options:
A fun trip to the tops and back, or the full hardcore crossing of the Richmond Range from Onamalutu to Canvastown.

Logging road (Kiwi Rd) starts at the end of Onamalutu Rd and continues up to a carpark at 600m elevation. During weekdays, the logging road is open to vehicles, so you can drive up to the carpark. Otherwise, do it properly and ride up from the bottom.
