Description
This track meanders up a fairly steep ridge to the top of the hill overlooking Maidstone Park. The track surface is mostly firm gravel, through it is a bit rough in places.
At about the halfway point there's an intersection with Maidstone East. Just below this intersection there's a picnic table and, a few metres further down the hill, a bench seat conveniently placed to admire the view over Maidstone Park.
If you're looking to do a few runs down Maidstone DH, but don;t have a shuttle, then this is the most direct way to get from the bottom to the top of Maidstone DH. However, this track has lots of steps and a steep gradient, so expect a fair bit of pushing your bike up the hill.
Getting there
Bottom in on Maidstone Park, next to the bottom of Maidstone DH and 50m south of the Pétanque piste.
Top meets Maidstone Ridgeline about 50m from the top of Maidstone DH.
Other notes
Although bikes are not prohibited, this track isn't really suitable for bikes since there are more than 80 steps along the way.
Length
0.73km
