Description

This is a busy little connecting track between Spoonhill and Wetland Loop. There are plenty of bumps and wriggles to keep you busy, even though the track is only short.

The purpose of this track is two-fold:

link Spoonhill with the rest of the Wainuiomata trail project, and

ultimately open up the next valley to the northeast for building more tracks.

Top is just over 0.5km from the bottom of Spoonhill.

Bottom meets the eastern side of the Wetland Loop.

Other notes

As of January 2011 the track is rideable, with the surface compact dirt. It is planned to have a gravel surface and tweaked to make uphill riding easier.

Was previously dubbed 'The Link' track. Nga Tuna is the Māori word given for various species of native New Zealand eels.
