Overview
Named after the hill it is on, "629" which just so happens to be 629m high! By coincidence, the round trip climb and drop is 6.29km! Expert / Extreem level track with lots of log rides and jumps. Requires a bit of a slog to get to the top, but well worth the effort. Fast becoming a favorate amongst the madmen!

Description
This is an expert level track with lots of Log rides and Drop Off's. There are plenty of "Chicken Lanes" for those not quite up to the challenge, and working their way up to being able to conquer the beast. At this stage the only access is a 600m climb to the top which can be done in one of two ways
Getting there
Ride out of Nelson up the Maitai Valley Road. You need to ride up past the camp, onto the gravel road where the seal ends, and over the bridge just up from there. A further km up the road is another bridge. If you look to the right just before this bridge you will se the exit point of the track. Carry on up the road to the point where you see the waterpipe over the river like a rainbow, go around the next sweeping bend and along to the next picnic spot. Here you will need to cross the river. At this point its a case of taking all the roads / tracks / firebreaks that go UP. At the very summit of the hill where the track goes into the bush, you should find the track entrance.
