Description
This track includes lots of features, making for an interesting descent. It is intended to be easier than the nearby Beeline, thereby providing more opportunities for loops within the Wainuiomata trail project.
Initially the track diverges from Labyrinth at a gentle grade. It then descends sinuously through the bush along a series of sweeping curves. Along the way there are many small bumps and hollows, much like a pump track.
Near the bottom, the track drops down a narrow and steep valley via nine switchbacks in quick succession. The track then joins an older bench that cruises gently down to join the Wetland Loop.
Getting there
The top is just over 0.1km up from the bottom end of Labyrinth, close to the saddle of the Wainiuomata Hill Road, and otherwise accessible having climbed Jungle Gym.
The bottom meets Wetland Loop near its northernmost apex.
