Description
This is an easy walk outside Porirua from the Porirua Stream up through native push and pine plantations, alongside a small lagoon, and through the front gardens of Gear Homestead. There are good views over Titahi Bay and Porirua from the fence above the motorway. The track emerges on Okowai Road a short distance uphill from Aotea Lagoon.
The walk uphill is a very gentle gradient.
Getting there
Either walk up from Porirua City, or park up on Okowai Road near Gear Homestead.
Other notes
Gear Homestead is used for wedding receptions and other events so the grounds may be closed at times.
