Description
Porirua stream is not very deep, and there will be a few ducks, geese, swans and seagulls along the way. You can access the concrete pathway from anywhere along Lyttleton Avenue. The walkway runs alongside both banks of the stream, and you can cross the river via several bridges (there is one opposite Porirua railway station). One end of the walkway begins about 800 metres south of the roundabout on Kenepuru Drive. The northern end is on Wi Neera drive at a small carpark beside the Pirate's Cove Adventure Mini-Golf centre.
You can also cross the motorway at Titahi Bay Road or Parumoana Street for a circuit on the inland side of the motorway. Cross the motorway to walk up past Gear Homestead to Aotea Lagoon.
