Description

Part of a set showing walkways in the Botanic Garden - see also Magpie Lawn, Lady Norwood and Carter Observatory. Altogether they probably cover about 80% of the pathways in the Botanic Gardens.

There are toilets near the duck pond. The visitor centre Treehouse is near Druid Hill, and there are some interesting sculptures alongside the main pathways.

There are many tracks shown here. If entering from the main entrance on Glenmore Street, turn right up Ludlam Way and go past the Sound Shell towards the duck pond. This area has tulips in September/October, and Magnolia trees also flower around the same time. Head up Buchanan Way to the Treehouse/Visitor Centre, then left where there are several tracks than circle Druid Hill. There is a small stone sculpture on the top. The herb gardens and Lady Norwood Rose garden lie to the east, and the childrens play area are past the Treehouse to the right. From the childrens play area you can walk up-hill (south) to the Carter Observatory, go west and exit at the Glen entrance in Kelburn, or go downhill (north) to the duck pond and back along William Bramley Drive to the main Glenmore St entrance.

Getting there

Main Botanic Garden entrance is off Glenmore St opposite the Chinese Embassy and a motor inn.
