Description

Part of a set showing walkways in the Botanic Garden - see also Druid Hill, Lady Norwood and Carter Observatory. Altogether they probably cover about 80% of the pathways in the Botanic Gardens.

Entering the botanic gardens from the Pipitea entrance on Glenmore Street near the Duck pond, turn left and walk towards the duck pond and then right just before the duck pond. The main track goes up to Glen entrance (good track for glow-worms at night), but instead turn right and head up towards Magpie Lawn. At Magpie Lawn there is a second track coming back down to the duck pond, or continue on up the hill to the James Hictor Pinetum when is between the Boundary and Glen Entrances. You can return via West Way (main sealed route near Glenmore Street) or from Glen Entrance via Mamaku Way or Kew Way via the Childresn Play area in the centre of the gardens.

Getting there

Several entrances along Glenmore St, or from Mariri or Glen entrances in Kelburn.

Other notes

No bicycles in the Botanic Gardens.

Length

1.83km

Conditions
