This is a short track round a newly developed wetland. Bicycles not permitted, but there are many nearby cycle tracks between the main highway and the shore and along the river stopbands (which hopefully will be added in the near future). There is one bird hide about 1/3rd of the way round the wetland from the main gate. Return the same way, or exit and cross highway and return by the beach.

Going south from Napier, turn left into the gates at Waitangi and drive towards the river, then back under the road and rail bridges and park near the gate by the electric fences. You can walk through the gate and up onto the rise which does a semicircle around the wetland.
