Description

This is a smooth concrete path that wanders along the top of the pleasant bush-clad Wild Thyme Reserve. The path swoops up and down along a hillside, making for a roller-coaster ride – some parts of which are quite steep.

Near the southern end, just before the concrete path turns straight up the hill, there is a sharp corner from which the much rougher Ascot Park Access heads down to Ascot Park.

Getting there

Northern end is off a small grass area at the end of Doncaster Terrace. It is tucked around a corner, so isn't visible from the road – just wander down the grass and the track will become obvious as it heads into the trees to the east.

Southern end is at the intersection of Sombrero View, Almora View and Doncaster Terrace.

Other notes

In July 2009 the Porirua City Council, in association with Project Crimson, planted 750 northern rata trees in the Wild Thyme Reserve adjacent to this track.
