A shorter loop track from the Kiriwhakapapa picnic area. The walk takes 30 - 45 minutes and is less steep. There is a track leading up into the Tararuas (Blue Range Hut) from the loop track.

From the Kiriwhakapapa carpark, the start of the loop track is just a few metres from the entrance.
