In addition to being a stroll past historic sites, starting from the Seddon memorial, past the Robertson's Cottage site and graves of notable people from the past, and finally over the Dennis McGrath Bridge to the walkway close to The Terrace - this is the most direct route from Tinakori Road to Wellington city.

Buses stop on Tinakori Road near the main entrance to the Botanic Gardens. From Bowen Street, walk up the street and take the steps on the left beside the last multi-storey building before the footpath runs out. Dennis McGrath bridge is behind this building (MED).
