This part of the Northern Walkway is along the road through Ngaio, from Bell Track (descent from Skyline walkway) to Trelissick Park.
Bell Track ends at the top of Awarua Street. Follow Awarua Street, noting the small stream on the right hand side of the street (whilst descending). Opposite Awarua Street railway station is a northern walkway sign - turn right here and go through Cummings Park, which comes out beside Ngaio library. There is a sign displaying historic sites in the area beside the library. There is a cafe in Ngaio and other shops if you need supplies.
Continue through Ngaio to the roundabout, using the pedestrian crossing opposite the tennis courts (beside the steps up to Ngaio railway station) to cross Waikowhai Street, and walk along the left hand side of Waikowhai Street to the Trelissick Park entrance which is just before Crofton Downs railway station and the rail bridge over the road.
