Description

Fort Buckley was an important gun emplacement during WW II. The site of the old guns sit above Ngaio Gorge looking out over the harbour. The site is being upgraded and now has wide, smooth tracks and new plantings. Well worth a short diversion if you are passing through Wadestown.

Note that although its only about 50 metres above Ngaio Gorge and the old Hutt Road, there isn't any way up from the bottom. Don't try climbing up - if you fall it'll hurt!
