Description

This is a short connection that sidles around the western side of Mount Alfred, hence bypassing a climbing section of Southern Mt Victoria.

Like most of Mt Victoria, the track surface includes a few tree roots to contend with on this classic, though short, piece of single track. Much of the track surface is hard-packed dirt, though during winter it can get a bit cut up and turn into mud.

The track climbs a few metres as it approaches the Alexandra Road saddle, though nothing of significance.

Getting there

Southern end is at the northwest corner of Alexandra Park. Of the several tracks at that point, this one heads northeast and is almost flat initially.

Northern end is at the Alexandra Road saddle point, marked by an information board and the intersection of several tracks. This track heads southwest and slightly down under the mature pine trees.

Length
