Description
At the bottom end there are a few steps up from the edge of Massey Road. Thereafter the track is wide with a gentle gradient as it climbs up under the trees to a plateau near of the head of Point Halswell.
The small grounds around the memorial are well tended. Views over the harbour are spectacular, especially if you climb up the rough tracks to the southeast of the memorial.
Getting there
Bottom end is on Massey Road, about 0.5km north of the former Shelly Bay Air Force Base. Beware that the steps at the bottom of this track are virtually on the edge of the road. There is a parking area directly opposite the track entrance.
Top is at the southwestern corner of the Massey Memorial.
