From a white barrier gate at the end of Owen Street, the first 50m of this track is a sealed road. The road continues into a vacant lot, so turn off the road and head along the lower grassy track below the water tank – the track up and past the water tank is Newtown Reservoir.

Drop down into a dip where there is a playground across a short wooden bridge (including a short connection to the top of Coromandel Street). Continue straight ahead up the wide grassy valley. This becomes quite steep, especially the final section after it meets the northern end of Newtown Reservoir.

At the top of the saddle point, veer across the open grassy area and continue along the single track that sidles around the hill to join Newtown to Mt Vic. To the northwest, along the graffiti-covered fenceline, is Gifford; while dropping down the hillside immediately next to the single track section is the bottom end of Alexandra Park DH.

Starts from the end of Owen Street.

Ends at a sign-posted intersection with Newtown to Mt Vic.
