Newtown to Mt Vic

Wide track that climbs from the colleges in Newtown up to the northwest corner of Alexandra Park.

From the northwest corner of Alexandra Park, this track drops down a rocky path to the Number 3 playing field of Wellington College.

Not far from the top Hospital to Mt Vic heads up the bank towards the southwest. Further down, just before the track emerges out onto a sealed driveway, there is a set of wooded steps leading up to the Gifford Observatory.

To exit from the bottom of this track, follow the sealed road north, west, and then north again along a tree-lined one-way driveway that emerges onto Paterson Street between the Basin Reserve and the Mount Victoria Tunnel.

The top is at the northwestern corner of Alexandra Park.

The bottom is next to Ground Number 3 of Wellington College.

Near the bottom of the track, under the trees, there is a white bollard towards the southwest side of the track – watch out for the grey chain connected to the bollard and draped across the track, as it may be difficult to see.
