Description
The most obvious way to identify this track is by ascending the straight section of Straight and Narrow, which heads straight up the hill to where there is a power pole on a ridge. The power pole serves as a prominent landmark for this track and several others nearby.
From the power pole, the track heads north along the ridge past Downhill extension and Karori Park Ridge (which meets this track at two points), before dropping down to meet Skyline in a clearing. This part of the track is fairly tame, though the descent to Skyline can be tricky when wet.
Heading south from the power pole, the track takes a step up and then ends at a large fallen tree. Steps have been constructed over the tree, though there is no obvious track beyond that point. Instead, drop down an extremely steep chute that falls off the side of the track. This section soon meets 98 Downhill via an especially steep and technical few metres of cliff-like track.
Getting there
Northern end meets Skyline at a saddle point clearing immediately below where Skyline zigzags up a hill.
Southern end joins 98 Downhill after dropping off the ridge.
