This track provides a nice alternative to the initially steep southern start to the Hataitai to City track. Instead of heading straight up the hill, this track wanders up through the bush at a relatively gentle gradient.

About 1/3 of the way up the track crosses the Hinau Street spur of the Hataitai to City track, which it then rejoins 0.2km later for the final section up to Alexandra Road.

The top meets the spur of Hataitai to City that goes down to Hinau Street, about 0.15km from Alexandra Road.

The bottom is on the velodrome exit road, where the main Hataitai to City track heads straight up the hill. Instead of going up Hataitai to City, head 20m north and then alongside the Hataitai electrical sub-station's fence.
