Description
This is a short track to the summit of Mount Albert, from which there are nice views over the surrounding area.
When going up it is easiest to take the loop to the southeast. For the return trip take the direct route down a short, steep drop back to your starting point on Western Slopes.
The summit has several radio masts, along with a large survey trig. At the end of the track there is a concrete octagonal structure – possibly a World War II observation post?
Getting there
Loops off Western Slopes at the top of its initial climb up from Mount Albert Road.
Length
0.22km
