Southern Suburbs, Wellington, New Zealand
Easy path from Buckley Road to Houghton Bay Road.
Bike and Foot
Starting from a gap in the wooden fence on Buckley Road, the top 0.2km of this track is a sealed path. The remainder is a mix of grass and gravel that swoops down then flattens out before meeting Houghton Bay Road.
Just before the seal ends Sinclair Park emerges from the bush to the southwest, crossing an exposed concrete pipe to meet this path.
Watch out for the low hanging gray steel chain across the exit to Houghton Bay Road – it can be difficult to see against the gray gravel background.
Next to the Houghton Bay Road exit there is a short chute that drops down to the next terrace of Sinclair Park.
The top is on Buckley Road, abour 0.1km from the intersection with Mount Albert Road and Houghton Bay Road.
The bottom meets Houghton Bay Road in the middle of the series of terraces that form Sinclair Park.
This track is part of the Southern Walkway. All of the Southern Walkway, which traverses the town belt from Houghton Bay to Oriental Bay, is open to bikes except for the northern-most section from Palliser Road to Oriental Bay.
