Description

This is a wide and easy gravel path connecting Bothamley with a new subdivision in Ascot Park. The track has existed for many years, but has been upgraded in association with the subdivision development. The upgrade includes two new bridges and a well designed path that meanders up a valley.

The southern 0.4km has a slight upward gradient, leading to a very moderate climb through the bush to a plateau at the northern end.

About 0.35km from the southern end there is an exit up to Tararua Close, as shown on the map. The partially concrete path has a long switchback, producing a moderate gradient that facilitates easy access for bikes.

Getting there

Southern end is at a T-intersection with Bothamley, about 0.8km from its eastern end.

The northern end is next to a small playground on Fiordland Place.

Other notes

The Google Map aerial photo shows the subdivision in the early stages of development. As at April 2009 the development is much more advanced, with virtually all sections occupied by new homes.

Length

1.55km
