Mount Climie Firebreak

From the upper car park head west across the grass to the treeline where there is a sign that says "Climie Firebreak". Enter the trees, cross a small bridge, and then climb up a tight set of switchbacks.

The remaining climb to an intersection with Plateau Ridge is a bit odd. Either side of the track, which is a narrow gravel path running straight up the hill, is a couple of rows of pine trees. Rather strange.

Cross the intersection at the top of the ridge, then cruise down the wide and winding road. After almost a kilometer you'll meet the Mangaroa Tunnel track, which runs from left to right, with the tunnel being located 0.45km to the right. The western end of Maymorn Loop heads up the fairly steep hill directly opposite.

Eastern end is just off the upper car park, on the tree line about 50m down hill from the start of Mount Climie.

Western end is at an intersection with Mangaroa Tunnel (running left to right) and Maymorn Loop (goes up the hill directly opposite).
