Description
This track has four distinct sections.
The southern-most section is initially steep and rutted. If you want to avoid this section, then instead of going up the first part of Mount Climie, start from the upper car park and take Mount Climie Firebreak to the ridgeline, where it intersects with Plateau Ridge.
North of that intersection, the track is a wide and gentle forestry road for almost a kilometer. At that point there is a clearing, after which the road becomes single track. Just after the clearing there's a steep descent into, and then climb out of, a small valley. The track then meets an intersection at the northern-most point shown on the map.
At the northern-most intersection, the track that continues straight ahead has a broken hand-written sign that says "No exit past this point". From the map it appears that this track goes down the hill to behind houses on Plateau Road. So, take a sharp turn to the left and carefully descend an extremely steep, rutted, and loose rocky section of track that ends at a clearing on the valley floor.
Continue through the clearing and 0.2km later you'll meet the apex of Maymorn Loop at a T-intersection.
Getting there
Southern end branches off Mount Climie about 0.75km from the bottom gate.
Northern end meets Maymorn Loop at its apex.
