Description

This track mostly hugs the fenceline between Queen Elizabeth Park and Whareroa Farm.

Although it is more sheltered than Coastal North, this track a more hilly. Even though some of the hills are quite sharp, none are more than 20m high. The most interesting hill is just south of Whareroa Pa, where the track divides into two sides - lots of steps on one side and a horse/bike track of the other side.

Along the way there are a couple of secondary routes over the dunes to the Coastal North track, though Whareroa Pa (0.75km from the southern end) is the only easily ridable connecting track.

About 0.5km from the southern end, at the obvious apex visible on the map, Whareroa Stream heads further inland towards MacKays Crossing.

Some 0.2km from the southern end is a 0.1km long "no stopping" zone, along the boundary of the local model airplane club. Watch out for low flying aircraft!
