Description

From the top, this track has a rolling profile as it drops off the ridgeline. The last section is particularly steep, with a gradient of more than 20%.

The track itself is fairly wide - just qualifying as doubletrack. Most of the track is under mature pine trees, so some of the dips can be a little boggy when wet.

In association with Huntingdon, Tinakori Ridgeline, Northern Walkway, and Grant Road, this track could form part of a commuting route to/from the city and the suburbs surrounding Tinakori Hill.

Getting there

Deviates off Tinakori Ridgeline about 0.6km from the northern end.

Meets the Northern Walkway at an intersection that is sign-posted but otherwise not particularly obvious. Northern Walkway heads into the bush, while the nature flow of the track is straight down/up the hill.

Other notes

At some point mechanisms will be installed on this track to slow down bikes, given that much of the track is quite steep.

Length

0.47km
