Description
The top and bottom sections of this track are deceptively inviting. Although moderately steep, there is nothing intimidating. That is, until you reach the middle section - where the track is extremely steep, overgrown, and mostly unformed.
Whether ascending or descending, expect a bit of bike pushing/carrying. The middle section is too steep and rough to ride up or, for most people, down.
Despite the difficult middle section, this track is one of the few connections across the Horokiwi hills. From the top it is possible to link with Horokiwi Bridleway for entry into, or exit from, the Belmont Regional Park.
Getting there
The bottom end continues up the hill from the end of Caribbean Drive.
Although not especially obvious from the road, the top end meets Horokiwi Road. Around 0.9km further north on Horokiwi Road you'll find the top of Horokiwi Bridleway.
