Description

From the gap in the Stratton treeline fence, it is only a short distance to the green hut where this track ends - hence the name.

Halfway along there is a culvert over a small creek. Just before reaching the green hut this track crosses an open area traversed by The Slide, so watch out for people coming down the hill. At this intersection there is an official looking, though not particularly helpful, sign that simply says "Track". Cross the open area and into the trees opposite to the start of Big Weta, off Danzig.

Unlike other tracks in the forest block, which generally go up/down the hill, Green Hut cuts across the hill. This creates opportunties for loops that intersect at the Green Hut, for example: climb Danzig, head north along a short section of OCR Belmont, drop down Choppers, take Green Hut to the centre of the forest, then down Big Weta to near the bottom of Danzig.

Getting there

Starts halfway down Stratton where there is a gap in the treeline fence, marked with a large orange-topped fencepost.

Ends a few metres uphill of the green hut, in the centre of the forest block, at an intersection with Danzig and Big Weta.
