Hutt Valley, Wellington, New Zealand
Undulating singletrack with a river crossing and a couple of tight corners over streams. No real hills but still possibly intermediate as it gets slightly technical in places.
Bike and Foot
Heading North - Starts on west side of Moonshine Bridge with an easy to miss track going down to your right off the footpath. Probably best to start on the eastern side of Hutt River and ride over Moonshine Bridge then take a sharp left down under the bridge. Mostly single track through bush but also involves going across the odd bit of field. The river crossing (Whakatiki Stream) is easy on foot but would gaurantee a dunking if you tried to ride it. There are a couple of tracks going off into the subdivision above the main track and a couple of km along there is a Y intersection - take the top track. The other one takes you over a slip and looks like it will take you down to the river (I suspect it was the old track). The track comes out on McCurdy's road and a short distance from Totara Park. Worth doing in both directions.
Trentham Memorial Park is a good place to start as you can also take in Barton's Bush, not very challenging but pleasent enough to get the ride under way.
