Extremely steep alternative route to Mt Pitt from Bullocks Road(near Anson Bay)
This is a usable 4WD track, but is not marked on many walking track maps as it is very steep and only suitable for very fit people! Looks like a power cable runs the length of the track from the road to Mt Pitt. Seems that the track was built directly: let's go directly up the hill, so they did!
From the Mt Pitt end there is a track descending via a gate at the north-western side of the carpark (the opposite end from the Mt Bates easy walking track. The track immediately descends steeply and directly downhill. It is overgrown in places, but clearly a 4WD track all the way down. Near the road there is a junction with track going into the pine trees. The track emerges on Bullock Road at a double wooden-gate in the area of road marked as "uneven surface". Otherwise there is no other signage showing the way to Mt Pitt.
Return the same way, allowing at least 30 minutes for the one-way trip.
