Description

The Botanic Gardens are about 1 km out of Burnt Pine up Grassy Road. There is a small carpark and toilets at the entrance. The path descends into the tree covered area and there are several short loop walks involving gentle gradients and a few steps. The tracks are well formed with wooden bridges and steps with handrails.

Look out the large spider webs above the bushes at the start of the walk. In summer there will be White Tern nesting in the trees. This is a good area for Pacific Robin, Golden Whistler, the endemic Slender-billed White-Eye, and Emerald Dove.

There is also an entrance to the Botanic Gardens off Mt Pitt Road.
