Several tracks are shown, allowing a loop walk from the esplanade (Moana Rd) up to the start of Taua Tapu and back.

From Cluny Road, there is a park between Cluny Road and Airlie Road. A little further up Cluny Road about 250 metres from the Plimmerton esplanade a signposted walking track heads up some steps between the houses to the end of Roys Road. Follow Roys Road up for about 400 metres, then another signposted track heads up the hill to The Track not far from the start of the Taua Tapu track.

Walking towards The Track, Karehana Bay Scenic Reserve track is signposted down through the bush on the left. There are good wooden steps through some shady bush. It emerges at the end of Reserve Road off Cluny Road.
