Description

This is one of the most popular and scenic short tramps in Arthur's Pass area. The ground is pretty rough in places and there are a couple of small streams to cross, but the track is relatively level and the grade is not difficult. It is about 45 minutes to a footbridge, at which point the track finishes (it is possible for mountaineers to continue, but this is not recommended for the average walker).

The area is subject to avalanches in winter. The track is best walked in summer when the alpine flowers are in bloom
