Location

Eastbourne, Wellington, New Zealand

Overview

Alternate rougher route to Kereru

Grade

Intermediate

Access

Description

This is an alternate route from the Kereru track, allowing a loop walk for fitter walkers from Williams Park. There is a good link track at the bottom end allowing residents from Moana Road to walk across a small stream and join Kereru track. The uphill section is marked as a "route", which means it is rough in places and some clambering with hands may be required. There aren't any orange markers but the track is clear. Ok in fine weather but some areas will be muddy after rain. It joins up with Kereru about 200 metres from the ridgeline track and Hawtrey Route.

Entry to Moana Route track from the end of Moana Road. Moana Road

Getting there

From behind the duck pond in Williams Park, Days Bay, or from the end of Moana Road.

Other notes

Moana Road is a no-exit street and there is no parking at the end of the road. Days Bay is a better place to park.
