Descent from Mt Lowry to Days Bays

Description:
The lower end of this track is at the end of Ferry Road above Days Bay, a few hundred metres from the Days Bay wharf. Trees have recently been felled on the lower part of the track which provides for good views over the harbour. The lower part of the track has a gravel base, but further up there may be muddy areas and trees roots across the track which is common for tracks in this area.
At Mt Lowry there is a seat for admiring the view, and a choice to return by Kaitawa Road, continue via Mount Lowry to Wainuiomata summit, or descend via Rata Ridge to Lees Grove or Fern Gully.
Other notes:
Mountain biking not permitted on this track.
