Description:
There are many paths through the Wellington botanic gardens (see Lady Norwood, Carter Observatory, Druid Hill, Magpie Lawn), along with sculptures, cable cars, rose gardens, tea houses, Carter observatory, Treehouse visitor centre and other attractions. This particular route goes around the perimeter of the gardens starting from the Boundary entrance at the southern end. There are many other entrances - the main one is off Glenmore Street not far from Bowen Street corner. The other main entrances are on Salamanca Road, and at the end of Upland Road where the cable car terminates.
Getting there:
From the city walk up Bowen Street or Bolton Street, or take the cable car from Lambton Quay.
Other notes:
Bicycles not allowed in the gardens, which can be very crowded on sunny weekends.
