Location: Polhill, Wellington, New Zealand
Overview:
Single track access between the top of Brooklyn and the Roller Coaster/Fenceline.
Grade: Intermediate
Access: Bike and Foot
Description:
This handy connector from Ashton Fitchett Drive to Fenceline makes a nice alternative to climbing the sealed access road.
There is a steel barrier at the bottom that you'll have to lift the bike over, and a pole-gate through the fence at the top.
Less than 100m from the bottom there is a steep, narrow, and often rutted connection to Highbury Fling. This connection used to be the top end of Planet Ride, before the upper parts of that track were subsumed into Highbury Fling and Transient.
Getting there:
The bottom of this track starts just to the right of the gate on the road access to the wind turbine, off Ashton Fitchett Drive, about 40m from the southern end of Highbury Fling.
To access the top, turn off the Fenceline track just north of the large modern blocky house behind the wooden fence (it's the only house on the track; if you're heading north and reach the transmission tower then turn back because you went 130m too far).
Length: 0.41km
Conditions: Single track
