Also known as: Back Door
Location: Polhill, Wellington, New Zealand
Overview:
Long-established walking track in Polhill.
Grade: Intermediate
Access: Foot
Description:
This is a fairly steep foot-only connection that runs more-or-less straight down a ridge to Aro Street. Along the way there are a few exposed tree roots and some quite narrow sections.
Getting there:
Top meets the multi-use track Transient.
Bottom is on Aro Street, 20m down from Holloway Road.
Other notes:
Slippery when wet.
Part of this track is on private land. Bikes are not permitted – though Transient, added to the track network in 2011, is a much better option anyway.
In June 2011 this track was truncated so that the top is at an intersection with Transient. Before then, this track continued up to Ashton Fitchett Drive and Sawmill. The previously upper parts of Planet Ride were subsumed into the newer multi-use tracks Transient and Highbury Fling.
Length: 1.22km
Conditions: Single track
Altitude:
11m
224m
263m
51m
