Location: Belmont Regional Park, Wellington, New Zealand
Overview:
Convoluted downhill-only track parallel to and inbetween The Slide and Stratton.
Grade: Advanced
Access: Bike and Foot
Description:
Short and steep downhill-only track with lots of switchbacks and drifting corners. The track is seldom far from Stratton, though there is a fence inbetween along the treeline.
The track surface is mostly bare clay slides, with a few tree roots thrown in for variety.
In dry conditions there is sufficient grip, plus handy berms on key corners, to give this track a nice flow. But combine the steep clay slides with a bit of moisture and this becomes a very challenging track in the wet.
Getting there:
Follow OCR Belmont for almost 0.2km past the top of Danzig and The Slide. If you emerge from the trees at the top of Stratton, then backtrack 40m.
The track ends at a T-intersection with Green Hut.
Length: 0.54km
Conditions: Single track
