Location: Pakuratahi Forest, Wellington, New Zealand
Overview:
Alternative bush walk part way up Mt Climie track
Grade: Intermediate
Access: Foot
Description:
This track leaves from the upper car park a little north of the main 4WD road up to Mount Climie. It is well marked as Tanes Track, and initially it is a firm gravel based walking track. A few hundred metres along the "steep route" to Mt Climie is marked. This is a bush walk, and whilst it isn't really steep it is uneven and boggy in places after rain. It emerges on the main Mt Climie track a little way uphill from Plateau Ridge.
Allow about 20 minutes to walk the track one way.

Getting there:
Park in the upper carpark at Tunnel Gully near the start of the Mount Climie road. The start of Tanes Track is about 50 metres inland from the Mt Climie road.
Other notes:
Not suitable for cycling. Can be very boggy after rain.
Length: 1.13km
Conditions: Single track
Altitude:
139m
233m
372m
