Love this site thx. I can search for the linked kml files in Google Maps on my GPS enabled Blackberry mobile device & use this to guide me to new tracks. I just wish there were single kml files to show all the tracks in a single area, e.g. Makara Peak, Wrights Hill, etc. As these areas already have their own page & a list of corresponding tracks, I'm hoping it's possible to automate the creation of a combined kml file for the relevant tracks & link to this from the area page.

I agree this is an awesome idea.
Ultimately it would be great if there were a simple REST api for getting KML out of the tracks site.
Examples:
Get a KML of all tracks in Wellington:
tracks.org.nz/wellington.kml
Get KML for all tracks at makara:
tracks.org.nz/wellington/makara.kml
Filter out walking tracks:
tracks.org.nz/wellignton.kml?access=bike
or
tracks.org.nz/wellignton.kml?difficulty=intermediate
